Memorial Day Weekend May 29-30, 2010 Early Bird Special: Save $5 when you register before April 30! Beginning and ending in Hartwell, Georgia (adjacent to beautiful Lake Hartwell and the Georgia/South Carolina border), you'll enjoy riding loops that traverse rolling back country roads with picturesque scenery and minimum traffic. Open to cyclists and accomplished skaters! Come for one day or both! You can camp inside the middle school gym, pitch a tent outside, or stay in one of Hartwell's hotels. Come Friday night and stay until after the ride Sunday. And, Saturday's ride will take you over the dam on Lake Hartwell, no matter which route you choose! Enjoy this spectacular sight or the simple beauty of the wild roadside roses as you ride the Challenge of the Centuries. On Saturday afternoon and evening, head to downtown Hartwell for Cars and Guitars—vintage car show and music on two stages! The ride benefits Boy Scouts of America Troop 33 and Hart Partners. The Challenge of the Centuries is an official Bicycle Ride Across Georgia 2010 Training Ride! 2010 Schedule Facilities at Hartwell Middle School Register Your entry includes: contribution to the Boy Scouts of America, a quality 100% cotton t-shirt (for pre-registrants; late registrant shirts are $12), nice camping and bath facilities, six scenic & well marked courses to ride, ride maps, sag support, security for your belongings while riding, and a great time with family and friends! Registration opens at 6:30 AM each day. Pre-registered riders and Friday night campers may also pick-up their packets or register on Friday between 7:00 and 9:00 PM. Riders will be required to sign a complete release form before riding. Register before May 17 to be assured of a t-shirt; late registrants are not guaranteed a shirt, depending on supply. Important notice An ANSI-approved helmet is required. All traffic regulations must be observed. The roads will not be closed to vehicular traffic and riders must stay as far right of the center line as possible at all times. Please make sure you have properly trained prior to riding this event.
